Provides guidance to administrative staff in local governments seeking to apply to the Canada Community-Building Fund program for funding. The program provides predictable, long-term, stable funding for Canadian municipalities to help build and revitalize public infrastructure while creating jobs and long-term prosperity. Updated August 2024, pursuant to the new administrative agreement signed with the federal government in July, 2024.

Description

The Municipal Stimulus Program provides additional capital infrastructure funding to municipalities with the primary objective to sustain and create local jobs, enhance provincial competitiveness and productivity, position communities to participate in future economic growth, and reduce municipal red-tape to promote job-creating private sector investment. These program guidelines include information on the program, funding formula and allocations, program eligibility and conditions, the application, review, and approval processes, and reporting requirements. Also included is a schedule of eligible capital project activities and a schedule of eligible capital project assets. Start Date: July 28, 2020. Program Closed: December 31, 2022.
