The purpose of the Water Treatment Program is to prevent deterioration of the water systems in Alberta Government buildings that are managed by Alberta Infrastructure, Property Management, or firms contracted to manage these facilities on Alberta Infrastructure's behalf. The Water Treatment Program Manual was designed as an information source for building managers and operating personnel, on the various types of systems operating within these facilities. It also serves as a reference guide, providing detailed information relative to the water system description, operation and maintenance, water treatment requirements, control tests, chemicals and reagents and controlled emission of chemical waste products.
