The School Capital Manual serves as a resource for school jurisdictions (not including private and federal schools) to develop their understanding of their roles and responsibilities regarding the prioritization, implementation and funding of approved school infrastructure projects. The manual also provides details to develop their three-year capital plans, which school jurisdictions develop to build or improve facilities.

This three-year project (2023-2026) aims at reorganizing the footprint and usable space at Campus Saint-Jean for administration, student services and learning, as well as repurposing historical spaces to meet Campus Saint-Jean strategic goal of reconciliation and decolonization. Campus Saint-Jean will expand and renovate various spaces within the McMahon, Lacerte and Daridon Pavilions in order to better meet the needs of students and staff. This project is funded under the Canada-Alberta Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction 2023-2024.

Ce projet d'une durée de trois ans (2023-2026) vise à réorganiser l'empreinte et l'espace utilisable au Campus Saint-Jean pour l'administration, les services aux étudiants et l'apprentissage, ainsi qu'à réaffecter les espaces historiques pour répondre à l'objectif stratégique du Campus Saint-Jean en matière de réconciliation et de décolonisation. Le Campus Saint-Jean agrandira et rénovera plusieurs zones parmi les pavillons McMahon, Lacerte et Daridon afin de mieux répondre aux besoins des étudiants et du personnel. Ce projet est financé dans le cadre de l’Entente Canada-Alberta relative à l’enseignement dans la langue de la minorité et à l’enseignement de la langue seconde 2023-2024.

Reports on a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project to remove CO2 from the process gas streams of the three hydrogen-manufacturing units which are a part of the Scotford Upgrader infrastructure. The Scotford Upgrader is owned by the Athabasca Oil Sands Project, a joint venture operated by Shell Canada Energy and owned by Canadian Natural Upgrading Limited, Chevron Canada Oil Sands Partnership, and 1745844 Alberta Ltd. The Upgrader is part of Shell’s Scotford facility located northeast of Edmonton.

Grâce à l’accroissement de la capacité des volets de la garderie et du programme préscolaire à l’école Le Ruisseau, la liste d’attente actuelle sera réduite et le projet contribuera à préparer les enfants à la transition vers l’école francophone. Ce projet est financé dans le cadre de l’Entente Canada-Alberta relative à l’enseignement dans la langue de la minorité et à l’enseignement de la langue seconde 2020-2023.

By increasing the daycare and preschool capacity at École Le Ruisseau, this project will address the current waiting list and contribute to preparing children for the transition to the Francophone school. This project is funded under the Canada-Alberta Agreement on Minority-Language Education and Second-Language Instruction 2020-2023.

Ce projet est financé dans le cadre de l’Entente Canada-Alberta relative à l’enseignement dans la langue de la minorité et à l’enseignement de la langue seconde 2019-2020. Approuvé à l’origine le 23 mars 2021; modification en vigueur le 1 avril 2022.
