The annual report of the ministry of Education contains financial information of the ministry and a comparison of actual performance results to desired results set out in the ministry business plan, which was published as part of the previous year's budget. The report also includes financial statements for the entities making up the ministry and for which the minister is responsible.

The Accountability Pillar gives schools and school boards a consistent way to measure their success and assess progress using a broad spectrum of measures. This summary is part of a larger set of Accountability Pillar results used by schools and school boards in the development of their 3-year education plans. Participation in provincial achievement tests (PATs) and diploma examinations were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The May 2020 (Revised) overall summaries reflect the Accountability Pillar data released in May 2020 and the absence of the 2019/20 PAT and diploma examination results.
