It does this by listening to the opinions of the disability community, communicating their ideas and concerns to the Government of Alberta and the broader community, and working with governments, community organizations, and other stakeholders towards solutions. The annual report provides information on the activities of the Council over the fiscal year.

The employment programs and services funded through the Canada-Alberta Labour Market Agreement for Persons with Disabilities (LMAPD) are one element of Alberta's efforts to ensure persons with disabilities are fully included in their communities. Alberta acknowledges the funding contribution from the Government of Canada in support of these programs and services.
