Description

The regional planning process set out in the Alberta Land Stewardship Act provides for directly-affected Albertans to request a review of a land-use plan. The Government of Alberta received six requests for review of the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan Review (LARP). A panel was appointed to consider these requests for review and provide recommendations to the Government of Alberta on whether each of the six applicants is directly and adversely affected by either a specific provision or provisions in the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan. This report, released in June 2015, presents the findings and recommendations of the panel.

In August 2013 the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation submitted an application requesting a review of the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan, which came into force in September 2012. The Government of Alberta responded to this request in June of 2014. This resource contains the reply of the Cold Lake First Nations to the government's response.
