This document outlines the requirements for validation, verification and audit under the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) Regulation. TIER is Alberta's industrial greenhouse gas emissions pricing regulation and emissions trading system. Facilities regulated under TIER must reduce emissions to meet facility benchmarks. All facilities are required to submit verified annual compliance reports yearly. Compliance reporting and benchmark applications require third party assurance.

This report shows the expected economic impacts of the Climate Leadership Plan on Alberta’s total economy, key industrial sectors and households. Four economic scenarios or cases were evaluated, with outcomes forecasted through to 2030.

Public investments will result in broad industry and public benefits, and will minimize the environmental impacts of technology deployment. And as discoveries and opportunities emerge in the technology and innovation sectors, the Framework will enable the province to adjust accordingly.
