Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed MD of Acadia and Special Areas Joint Irrigation Project ("the Project"). Located approximately 250 km east of Calgary and 100 km north from Medicine Hat, Alberta, the Project is a proposed greenfield irrigation project that will provide irrigation within the MD of Acadia and Special Areas. The Project requires a new Red Deer River pump station and will involve pumping water from the Red Deer River and storing it in reservoirs to use for irrigation. The Project will include the creation of two preliminary reservoirs, one (with a live storage volume of approximately 34,000,000 m3 and a maximum dam height of 30.5 m) located 1 km north of the Red Deer River, on the boundary between the MD of Acadia and Special Area No. 3, and the other (with a live storage volume of approximately 134,000,000 m3 and a maximum dam height of 40 m) located approximately 5.5 km southwest of Bindloss, AB. Under the Post-Secondary Learning Act, the boards of all public post-secondary institutions and independent academic institutions must enter into an investment management agreement with the Minister of Advanced Education. These agreements must include the mandate of the institution, performance metrics for the institution, and anything else determined by the Minister. The agreements are the primary accountability instrument of a performance-based funding model for Alberta's post-secondary system and incentivize institutions to work collectively to achieve the goals of Alberta 2030. This record contains all signed investment management agreements for the period 2022-2025.
