Description

The Ministry assessed particulate matter and ozone data collected at Alberta monitoring stations between 2001 and 2012. These assessments were performed annually, and each covered a three-year period (2010-2012, for example). As a result of these assessments, the department assigned action levels to individual monitoring stations and to the Census Metropolitan Areas of Edmonton and Calgary. Episodes caused by natural, background or trans-boundary influences were removed in these assessments. These Fact sheets outline the assessment results.

Quarterly report on the air quality ratings for Alberta as measured by air monitoring stations in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, and Fort Saskatchewan. Air pollutants monitored include carbon monoxide, dust and smoke, oxides of nitrogen, ozone, total hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia and particulates (PM10 and PM2.5).
