The Agri-Food Statistics Update is designed to provide users with commentary on current issues, trends and new developments related to agriculture and the food and beverage processing industries. Collected from a variety of sources, the Statistics and Data Development Unit monitors statistical indicators of agri-food activity for Alberta. Up-to-date statistics are supplemented with informative charts and diagrams. To gauge Alberta's performance, comparative data and information are often available for Canada and the provinces.

The purpose of survey is to address some of the data gaps and information needs of the beekeeping industry in Alberta, each year the Statistics and Data Development (SADD) Branch conducts a survey of beekeepers in the province.The survey results along with information from other sources are used in the development of provincial and regional estimates for selected honey variables such as colony numbers, yield, production and prices. These estimates, along with the survey results are shared with survey participants, industry, Statistics Canada and other stakeholders.

The annual Irrigation Rehabilitation Program Status Report summarizes the expenditures and status of all IRP projects that were active during the construction period of August 1st to July 31st of a given year. The IRP began in 1969 and is a cost shared program between Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and Alberta’s 13 irrigation districts. Since 1969 funding levels have varied between $600,000 and $33,400,000.
