A Primary or Secondary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) is a communication centre which receives 9-1-1 calls from a defined geographic area and processes those calls according to a specific operational policy. The Alberta 9-1-1 Standards apply to both Primary and Secondary PSAPs providing 9-1-1 Services within the province of Alberta.
