Description

The fundamental principle of these criteria is that the success of land reclamation is measured against the original or representative site conditions with due consideration for construction norms at the time of development. In cases where pre-construction data are not available, the land, soil and vegetation adjacent to the site will be used as a comparison. However, in special cases, the operator may have to find representative land, soil and vegetation a short distance from the site; the reasons for doing this must be explained in the application and to the Conservation and Reclamation Inspector at the inquiry.
