This submission outlines Alberta's concerns regarding the proposed federal Oil and Gas Sector Greenhouse Gas Emissions Cap Regulations. It details Alberta's objections to the draft regulations based on a number of grounds. The technical submission does not alter Alberta's position that the proposed emissions cap is unconstitutional. As set out in Section 92A of the Constitution Act, 1867, Alberta has exclusive jurisdiction to manage the rate of non-renewable natural resources production and operational aspects of their development in the province.

The South Saskatchewan Regional Plan came into effect in September 2014, and was the second regional plan established under Alberta's Land Use Framework. The progress reports offer information regarding the work accomplished or the barriers encountered in implementing the the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan and highlight the status of all the strategic commitments made in the plan. The reports meet the legislative requirements described in the Alberta Land Stewardship Act and the regulatory requirements embedded in the plan. They also fulfill a public commitment to regularly monitor and answer the question "was progress made toward achieving desired regional objectives expressed within the approved regional plans?"

Aquatic Invasive Species pose a significant threat to Alberta's aquatic ecosystems and water infrastructure. These non-native species, including invasive mussels, plants, and fish, often outcompete native species due to a lack of natural predators. They disrupt aquatic ecosystems, cause costly damage to water infrastructure, and negatively impact recreation and tourism. The Provincial Aquatic Invasive Species Task Force recommends several key measures to combat the spread of aquatic invasive species, with particular emphasis on invasive mussels.
