Description

The strategy outlines priority actions to address labour force issues and challenges experienced by the forest industry. Industry and labour groups are best positioned to implement these strategies over Government will enable and support contributing organizations with the implementation wherever appropriate. A Workforce Strategy for Alberta’s Forest Industry was developed by stakeholders from the forest industry with support from the Alberta government. Representatives from this industry participated in a series of discussions that occurred between 2007 and early 2008 and the feedback from those meetings formed this strategy.

The Government of Alberta's overall policy for the development of the province's coal resources is designed to bring and maintain the maximum benefits, now and in the future, to the people of Alberta who own this resource. Exploration and development will be encouraged in a manner that is compatible with the environment and at times which will best suit Alberta's economy and labour force.
