Description

As part of the Government of Alberta’s commitment to be open and accountable to the public, all ministries are required to prepare and make public ministry business plans. The ministry business plan encompasses the department and all consolidated entities, and aligns with the strategic direction of the Government of Alberta. Each business plan includes a description of the ministry, desired outcomes, priority initiatives, and performance measures and indicators. Current and forecast budgeting information for the planning period is also included.

HIIA is differentiated from other emergency and disaster response and recovery in that law enforcement has a defined police crisis management role separate from emergency management structures. This plan will apply when the coordination of crisis management and consequence management is necessary to resolve a HIIA.

The Government of Alberta must disclose the remuneration of employees who earn a base salary of more than $104,754. The threshold is higher for employees of public sector bodies than for employees of the Government of Alberta as it includes overtime and other income. The threshold for government employees includes only base salary or severance. Employees may be exempted from having their compensation disclosed only if this could unduly threaten their safety. There are no other grounds for granting exemptions.

The Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) is a computerized system that provides tactical information about crimes and criminals. In Alberta, Alberta Justice and Solicitor General is the designated CPIC agency for the Peace Officer Program (excluding Sustainable Resource Development, Parks and Tourism and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Branches).
