This Roles and Mandates Policy Framework also serves as a foundation for ongoing evolution of Alberta's advanced education system. Ultimately, an effective system will be one that meets the needs of learners, promotes access, leverages capacity, and allows resources to be effectively allocated to provide outcomes with the greatest value. This framework also ensures strategic long-term planning for advanced education in Alberta by building a more resilient and responsive system that aligns supply and capacity to the demands of learners, society, and the economy.
