The budget outlines the government's financial plans from April 1 to March 31 each year. This record includes links to separate records in the Portal for each year's budget. These records include the fiscal plan, Government of Alberta strategic business plan, and ministry business plans, as well as supporting documents for the specific year. Check the "Related" tab for each record for links to the Offices of the Legislative Assembly Estimates and Government Estimates, which also make up part of each year's budget.

Budget 2016 addresses the challenges Albertans face as a result of the steepest and most prolonged slide in oil prices in recent history by promoting economic diversification and job creation, supporting families in times of hardship and improving access to education and skills training while restraining the rate of growth in government operating expense. Budget 2016 implements the Climate Leadership Plan that will make Alberta one of the world’s most progressive and forward-looking energy producers. By addressing climate change in a meaningful way, the Plan will improve access to markets for Alberta’s energy industry. The Plan sets a price for carbon and will fully reinvest these dollars into the economy, helping Albertans and Alberta businesses adjust while also investing in green infrastructure, energy efficiency initiatives and other areas to protect existing jobs and create new jobs in Alberta.

Budget 2015 lays the groundwork for a stronger, diversified economy while stabilizing the frontline public services that all Albertans rely on. Includes the fiscal plan, Government of Alberta and ministry 3-year strategic plans, and four fact cards about the budget. Included in this year's strategic plan is the Report to the Government of Alberta on the Development, Renewal and Financing of the Government's plan for Spending on Capital Projects to 2019 by David Dodge (also known as the Dodge Report). Users should also click on the Related tab of this record to find links to the Government Estimates and the Offices of the Legislative Assembly Estimates.

The Qualified Wetland Science Practitioner (QWSP) program and standards will help ensure that professionals are appropriately trained and equipped to assist applicants in progressing through all stages of the wetland application process under the Alberta Wetland Policy. Requirements and practice standards for the QWSP designation are currently under development. In the meantime, an interim program has been established.
