Description

This regulation is made under the Alberta Utilities Commission Act. The Regulation prohibits the Alberta Utilities Commission from granting an approval under section 9 or 11 of the Hydro and Electric Energy Act in respect of a hydro development or power plant that produces renewable energy during the period in which the Regulation is in force. The regulation clarifies that the prohibition on approvals does not apply to certain amendments of existing approvals.

Description

This regulation is made under the Natural Gas Marketing Act and governs the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission’s (APMC) role in overseeing the buying and selling of natural gas in Alberta. It establishes the classes of costs and charges that constitute the Alberta cost of service for a buyer under gas contracts, permits the APMC to audit contracts, and enacts procedures allowing decisions of the APMC to be reviewed or appealed. The regulation, moreover, enacts rules governing producer support for downstream pricing and record and information keeping.

Description

The Rural Utilities Act establishes the organization, governance, and makes provisions for the management of business and affairs, of rural utility associations. A rural utility association is an incorporated entity of five or more persons, of which its main purpose is to supply to its members utility services for electricity, natural gas, water that is used primarily for domestic purposes, and sewage. The Act enables rural utility associations to finance borrowings through a loan guarantee for provision of electrical services in rural areas.

The Regulation also sets out a definition for customer for the City.
