This manual was written as a reference guide for tuberculosis screening, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and community follow-up. It describes protocols, standards and recommendations for the management of tuberculosis in Alberta. These protocols are based on the recommendations of the Tuberculosis Committee of the Canadian Thoracic Society and the opinions of local and national experts in tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment and control.
