Description

The purpose of this Memorandum is to promote formal and informal cooperation and collaboration between Alberta and NWT. The Memorandum will also facilitate information sharing between the jurisdictions, enhance working relationships, and promote partnerships in areas of mutual interest. Without limiting the areas of mutual interest, Alberta and NWT agree to cooperate and share information related to trade, transportation, tourism, regional and community economic development, resource development, energy, the environment, health and social services, education training and skill development, and research and innovation.

These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2022. Where a rule in the Addendum and a rule in the Provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the Addendum governs. FMP-specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes. These are meant to be a small list related to specific FMP requirements and not a preferred deviation or exceptions from the provincial OGRs.
