Proposal for a debris flood retention structure on Cougar Creek that will be approximately 30 meters high and will span a bedrock confined channel. During a flood event the structure will be designed to hold back up to 600,000 cubic meters of water and debris. The structure will not permanently hold water. The proposal is for construction of a run-of-river hyro plant including headworks (powerhouse and weir), headpond and power line with a maximum gererating capacity of 100 MW, located 2 km upstream of the Dunvegan highway bridge, near Fairview, Alberta.
