This summary reviews two flood mitigation projects proposed for the Elbow River, namely the Bragg Creek/Springbank off-stream flood storage and the McLean Creek flood storage. Both projects aim at the storage of flood water and thus reducing the peak river discharge through Calgary.

This study identifies three industrial waste types generated in Alberta that could be taken from a waste management system to a resource management system and provides direction on the proposed management processes. Additionally, current provincial, national and international programs that involve managing waste as a resource were investigated and are discussed.

Presents long-term forecasts for population and water demand (withdrawals and consumptive use) to assist with water management planning in the South Saskatchewan River Basin. The major water use categories quantified are municipal, industrial, stockwatering, other agricultural (non-irrigation) and water management. (Water management uses include licensed projects involving lake stabilization, remediation and flood control.) The study was commissioned as part of the South Saskatchewan River Basin water management review.

Alberta Environment concluded there was a need to review the fisheries management in the lower Bow River, from the Bearspaw Dam in Calgary downstream to Bassano, and to develop recommendations for future management of the fishery. The recommendations would be the basis for specific angling regulations and fisheries management objectives. An Advisory Committee comprised of people representing interests directly associated with the lower Bow River was established. The Committee developed a public involvement program to support their recommendation process. This report presents the results of the public consultations, and contains the recommendations of the Committee which have resulted from this consultation.
