Description

The Code of Practice for Watercourse Crossings establishes the objectives, standards and conditions to be met when undertaking the activity of constructing or removing watercourse crossings. Alberta Environment, as the department responsible for the administration of the Water Act, monitors and audits for compliance, and enforces the Code of Practice requirements. This guide is intended to assist those responsible for watercourse crossing in meeting their obligations and requirements under the Code of Practice.

The objectives of the program are to map the distribution of outdoor air quality parameter concentrations in the vicinity of industrial facilities in the area, to detect the influence of elevation and topography on concentrations, and to identify some of the specific sulphur and hydrocarbon compounds that may be responsible for complaints from area residents.

Description

The first part of this report gives a general description of some of the physical characteristics of the Rocky Mountain House region, located in west central Alberta. The second part describes the soils of the area. The soil types are arranged in a systematic order to show the relationship one to another. The third part of the report is an appendix which gives, in some detail, data relating to the soils and the area. The soil map shows the location and extent of the different soil types, as well as indicating the main topographic features. Other maps show the relative producing capacity of the soil areas, the extent and location of the cultivated land, the kind of parent material on which the soils were formed.
