(StatCan Product) This information product has been customized to present information on average household expenditures by household type and age in Alberta for 2014. There is also a separate spreadsheet that presents detailed household expenditures for households 65 years and over (residents) for Canada and provinces. Unlike families, households may be comprised of individuals who are not related either through blood, marriage or children as in the case of either an economic family (related by blood, married/common law or adoption) or census families (married/common law with or without children and lone parents). For instance, a household may be comprised of two individuals, not related, who share a common dwelling. The Survey of Household Spending is carried out annually across Canada in the ten provinces.
