The annual report of the ministry of Seniors and Housing contains financial information of the ministry and a comparison of actual performance results to desired results set out in the ministry business plan, which was published as part of the previous year's budget. The report also includes financial statements for the entities making up the ministry and for which the minister is responsible.

This report provides recommendations to government on how to better support housing for Albertans in need, balancing financial sustainability with growing demand. In developing its recommendations, the Affordable Housing Review Panel considered input from Albertans, the supports required for Albertans in need of housing, market trends and projections, and approaches to housing in other provinces. The government will use this report as the cornerstone of its strategy and action plan to transform affordable housing in Alberta.

The Taking Action Against Elder Abuse Co-ordinated Community Response Grant Program supports the development or enhancement of co-ordinated community response models. Through a response model, community and government organizations work together to co-ordinate supports and services and increase their capacity to respond to elder abuse. Communities could access up to $150,000 over a three-year period. The final term of the grant will end December 31, 2018.

Description

A series of regional engagement sessions were conducted across Alberta throughout June 2016 to inform the development of a Provincial Affordable Housing Strategy and revisions to the regulations under the Alberta Housing Act. Sessions were held in Grande Prairie, Bonnyville, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge. This report provides an overall summary of the regional engagement evaluations.
