The growing need for water conservation and more efficient use of water resources in Alberta has resulted in the development of systems that use reclaimed water for toilet or urinal flushing, or irrigation. Systems using reclaimed water are considered Alternative Solutions as defined by the National Plumbing Code. This fact sheet provides information to stakeholders preparing proposals for alternative solutions.
