Presents the winners and shortlisted initiatives of the Minister's Awards for Municipal and Public Library Excellence, which recognize noteworthy accomplishments in the provision of municipal and public library services in Alberta. Each year, municipalities and public libraries have highlighted promising practices including new and unique approaches to issues, streamlined processes for existing practices, and creative community partnerships.

Description

Alberta Municipal Affairs introduced the Municipal Sponsorship Program in 1998. The objective of the Program is to provide support for projects that: improve municipal governance or administration; enhance municipal services or service delivery; and/or increase inter-municipal co-operation. The MSP is based on the premise that a municipal council will identify their municipal project needs. The Program will provide financial assistance for these projects through a conditional grant. These guidelines apply to 2009 MSP project applications only.
