This two-page information sheet provides a summary of the results of a public engagement process to explore amendments to the Local Authorities Election Act and Municipal Government Act which would enhance accountability and public trust in local elections and local elected officials. The public engagement was conducted by Municipal Affairs between June 29 to July 22, 2022 of municipal associations were also contacted to gather additional input. The LGFF is replacing the Municipal Sustainability Initiative, which was in place from 2007 to 2023.
