Description

Gas safety information bulletins provide guidance and clarity to interested parties on matters relating to gas codes adopted under the Gas Code Regulation. STANDATA are developed and issued by Alberta Municipal Affairs to support the consistent application of codes and standards under the Safety Codes Act. STANDATA are issued as interpretations, variances or information bulletins that may apply province-wide or to specific sites for any thing, process or activity regulated by the Act.

The following STANDATA were issued under the National Building Code–2023 Alberta edition. STANDATA, which include province-wide variances and interpretations, are specific to the version of the Code that they were issued under. Once a new Code comes into effect, all existing STANDATA are deemed to be obsolete and cannot be used for new construction. They are, however, still valid for evaluating code compliance of existing structures by fire services, insurance companies and by building inspectors in consideration of renovations and retrofits.

This manual contains detailed descriptions of the steps required to satisfy the legislative requirements relating to the various tax recovery processes. It also contains checklists that highlight the main steps and timelines. Links to the various forms required by Alberta Land Titles or the Personal Property Registry are also included.

The two programs were established to assist municipalities where taxes related to requisitioned amounts cannot be collected from property owners.
