Variance 21-ECV-006-112 does not consider increased energy demands or increased frequency of extreme weather events and will not be renewed when the Canadian Electrical Code Part 1-2024 is adopted in Alberta.

Provides notification on six new codes that were adopted under the Gas Code Regulation (AR 111/2010) and came into effect on February 1, 2021 under the Safety Codes Act: the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code; the Propane Storage and Handling Code; the Installation Code for Propane Fuel Systems and Tanks on Highway; the NGV Refuelling Stations Installation Code, the Natural Gas for Vehicles Installation Code; and the Code for the Field Approval of Fuel-Related Components on Appliances and Equipment. Also lists two codes that came into effect under the same regulation as of September 1, 2022: The Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles Installation Code and the Liquefied Natural Gas Vehicle Installation Code.
