Provides a comprehensive hazard-specific consequence management plan that clarifies the roles, responsibilities, and communications pathways in respect to a human-induced intentional act (HIIA). HIIA is differentiated from other emergency and disaster response and recovery in that law enforcement has a defined police crisis management role separate from emergency management structures. This plan will apply when the coordination of crisis management and consequence management is necessary to resolve a HIIA.

Section 8 of the Fatal Accidents Act allows certain close family members of a deceased killed by a wrongdoer the right to claim compensation from that wrongdoer for the grief and loss of guidance, care and companionship of the deceased person. Section 9 of the Act requires the government to review the levels of damages in section 8 every five years to determine whether the amounts need to be adjusted. The results of the review are reflected in this report.

The Municipal Policing Assistance Grant Program (MPAG) helps communities meet the costs of policing services and supports government's commitment to address the financial impact of policing on municipalities. Municipalities are expected to use the funds to ensure adequate and effective policing and policing oversight, to assist in implementation of provincial policing initiatives, and/or to enhance policing services to residents. All municipalities that pay for their own policing qualify for this program. The grant is issued annually and no application is required. Recipients must provide reports on how the grant funds were used.

Lists annual payments made to receiving municipalities under the Police Officer Grant. The program begin in 2008 as an initiative of adding 300 police officers over a three-year period. Municipalities responsible for providing their own municipal policing (towns/cities/urban service areas over 5,000 in population) were eligible for funding. No applications were required and the program provides a grant to the municipality of up to $100,000 per position, per year. This funding is ongoing but is dependent on funding allocations each year.
