Description

Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation (INFTRA) has conducted extensive research and developed strategies for Safety Rest Areas (SRAs) on highways in the province. Through the development of the various strategies, various stakeholder groups were involved and consulted in the earlier studies to assist in the development of the various plans. The most recent, March 31, 2004 Policy Framework & Implementation Strategy (R-863), consolidated all strategies and provides guidelines for development of SRAs on provincial highways. This specific report addresses the reconciliation of the Southern Region existing and proposed SRAs in accordance with the policy framework.
