This Alberta Health information sheet offers guidance to restaurants and outlines best practices to support food operators who choose to allow dogs on patios. As of May 25, 2022, amendments to food regulation give food establishments the option to allow patrons’ dogs into outdoor eating areas without approval from a public health inspector.

It also provides for Alberta Health to share information collected via the isolation questionnaire with other government departments for education and enforcement purposes in compliance with the requirement to isolate or quarantine, as required by Record of Decision – CMOH Order 05-2020.
