These annual reports highlight progress on activities related to Managing disease risk in Northern Alberta wood bison. This includes updates on the three broad components; Hay-Zama wild bison herd management; disease surveillance and risk reduction east of highway 35; and monitoring populations of wild bison east of highway 35 and in the Ronald Lake area.

Government is consulting with the agricultural community to draft workplace amendments that reflect the unique nature of farms and ranches. The technical working groups 3 & 4 considered the applicability of parts 1-29 of the Occupational Health and Safety Code with the unique considerations of farm and ranch work. They have submitted their reports and recommendations outlining how provincial legislation could apply to farms and ranches. This report was submitted to: Minister Carlier (Agriculture and Forestry), and Minister Gray (Labour).

The 2010 Agriculture Drought Risk Management Plan (ADRMP) focuses on planning and preparedness measures. ADRMP 2010 continues to provide a framework for a coordinated, pro-active approach to reduce the short- and long-term effects of drought and of climate change on Alberta farmers and ranchers. It will guide government agencies in assisting producers to more effectively reduce the impacts of drought before, during and after a drought event, and will help agricultural producers to be more prepared and less vulnerable to drought.
