A population projection is a forecast of future population growth. Future population growth for Alberta is projected under three different growth scenarios: the medium, or reference, scenario and high- and low-growth scenarios. Projections of each component of population growth (fertility, mortality and migration) are developed based on past trends, modified to account for possible future patterns of change. This package contains the full report of population projections for Alberta and its 132 local geographic areas for the period 2011 to 2050, as well as a highlights fact sheet and a methodology and assumptions document.
