The Athabasca rainbow trout, a small salmonid native to small streams and rivers of the upper Athabasca watershed, is listed as Threatened in Alberta. The goal of this recovery plan is to increase the number of Athabasca rainbow trout populations in low risk categories by a minimum of 10 per cent and to reverse the trend of an increasing number of populations in high risk categories.
