Description

This document outlines the amendment process for renewable energy project applications. Proponents of wind and solar projects greater than one megawatt must obtain a Renewable Referral Report from Alberta Environment and Parks to complete their submission. After the completion of the Referral Report, but before commissioning of a project, changes may be made that have the potential to affect the project's wildlife risk ranking. In situations where the changes are significant to wildlife or wildlife habitat, amendments are used, to ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented by the proponent for wildlife.

Presents the results of an aerial survey of wood bison in the Hay-Zama region from February 19-22, 2020. Aerial surveys are the primary method used to assess the population size, distribution, population trends and herd composition of ungulates in Alberta. This information supports the effective management and conservation of ungulates, and is used to set hunting licence allocations, identify areas with agricultural depredation problems, and determine priority areas for recovery actions.
