Description
The Alberta Water and Wastewater Operator Certification program requires that operators have post-secondary education, or equivalent, to meet the requirements for Levels III and IV certification. Certification program administrators across North America recognize that many operators have not had the opportunity to attend formal post-secondary education programs. Therefore, the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) system can be utilized by operators to gain the equivalent of post-secondary education.
In addition, effective January 1, 2005, operators in Alberta require between 0.6 and 3.6 CEU for renewal every 3-year renewal period (in some cases, operators with multiple certificates require more than 3.6 CEU).
