In this report, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide concentrations measured at continuous air monitoring stations in the Lower Athabasca Region are assessed against the ambient air quality thresholds set by the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan. The report is part of the Government of Alberta's commitments made under the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan to annual and ongoing monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

This report summarizes the 2017 status of air quality relative to the triggers and limits for nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide in the Lower Athabasca Region. This report is produced to fulfil the ambient condition reporting requirements required by the Air Quality Management Framework, which supports the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan.

Presents results of monitoring of nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide concentrations at air monitoring stations in the Lower Athabasca region, and reports whether air quality triggers or limits were exceeded during this period. The report was prepared by Environmental Monitoring and Science Division of Alberta Environment and Parks to fulfill reporting requirements mandated by the Lower Athabasca Air Quality Management Framework supporting the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan.
