Description

Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed Stone Creek Resorts Inc. Gondola project. The proposal is to construct and operate an aerial passenger ropeway system along with a day lodge, trail networks, viewing platforms, suspension bridge and associated utility services infrastructure as part of the Silvertip Integrated Village Resort. The proposed passenger aerial gondola would connect the base area of the Silvertip Resort to an upper terminal on the summit ridge of Mount Lady MacDonald, via a mid-station integrated with the Silvertip Resort Village. The Northwest Caribou Sub-regional Task Force was one of three task forces established in November 2019 to develop recommendations to inform the development of sub-regional plans to support caribou recovery in Alberta. The task force included representatives from First Nations, Métis groups, municipalities, environmental non-governmental organizations (ENGOs), the forest industry, the energy industry, trappers, motorized recreation groups, and other land-users. This reports presents the recommendations made by the task force to inform the development of a sub-regional plan for the Bistcho Lake sub-regional area, which includes the Bistcho woodland caribou range.

The discussed common air pollutants are fine particulate matter (PM2.5), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ammonia (NH3), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and carbon monoxide (CO). The focus of the work is to understand the impacts of the Horse River Wildfire on ambient air quality within Fort McMurray and surrounding areas. In addition, the report also provides recommendations for future air monitoring activities during wildfire events.
