The purpose of Cenovus’ AIDROH (Air Injection and Displacement for Recovery from Oil Horizontal) project is to explore the viability of using horizontal wells to recover bitumen in the Kirby Wabiskaw K-3 Pool that has been passively heated by combustion in the overlying gas zone. The project is a participant in the Innovative Energy Technology Program.
