This addendum outlines Forest Management Plan-specific ground rules which apply to the Weyerhaeuser Pembina FMA. These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2023. Where a rule in the addendum and a rule in the provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the addendum governs. FMP-specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes.

Description

The Alberta Crop Report provides timely provincial and regional summaries of crop production in Alberta during the crop season, and is used by industry and other stakeholders for various purposes, including drought monitoring and forecasting of production insurance payments. The report is also used to validate some of the Alberta crop estimates generated by Statistics Canada. Data for the report is collected through regular surveys on moisture and crop conditions, progress of seeding and harvesting, insect and disease situation, yield potential and crop quality, etc., along with information from other sources. Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AF) has delivered the Alberta Crop Reporting Program to clients since 1940.

This addendum outlines Forest Management Agreement-specific ground rules which apply to the Manning Forest Products FMA. These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2022. Where a rule in the Addendum and a rule in the Provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the Addendum governs. FMA specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes. These are meant to be a small list related to specific FMP requirements and not a preferred deviation or exceptions from the provincial OGRs.

Although not a reportable or notifiable disease, Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae more commonly referred to as M.ovi, is a bacterium that can contribute to respiratory disease infections in domestic sheep/goats that generally do not cause significant losses in these flocks/herds. In wild bighorn sheep, however, M.ovi infection can be fatal, and can be the cause of whole-herd die-offs. This fact sheet discusses symptoms, mode of transmission, and who to contact if a producer suspects that they may have M. ovi in their domestic flock/herd. It increases awareness of the dangers this disease could pose to wild bighorn sheep populations located in close proximity to domestic sheep/goats, and provides contact information that can be used by sheep/goat producers to access available funding programs for testing/fencing, etc if they are located in/near bighorn ranges.
