This is your life: A Career and Education Planning Guide (TiYL) was developed to meet a need identified by secondary teachers, students and Alberta Education and Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education staff. TiYL introduces students to the principles of career and education planning as well as several authorized Government of Alberta resources.

Since June 1, 2014, all international students studying in Canada must obtain a study permit for a program that is longer than six months (or for a program shorter than six months if it has an integrated and mandatory work component). To accept and enroll international students, Alberta learning institutions and training providers must be designated eligible by the Ministry of Advanced Education. This document explains how to become designated as an academic learning program at a post-secondary institution, training provider, or English language provider for international students studying in Alberta.
