Campus Alberta Planning Resource (CAPR) is the yearly environmental scan and planning resource of the Campus Alberta Planning Framework (CAPF). CAPR is designed to give Alberta's advanced education system a context to support planning and priority setting. It helps set parameters around enrolment and program-related choices and provides common data and information for evidence-based decision-making. It supports institutional planning and system alignment, and identifies broader strategic directions and policy outcomes.

The Pan-Canadian Interactive Literacy Forum was held in April 2008 to discuss what Alberta needs to improve literacy. The comments from forum participants were used to develop this draft literacy framework for Alberta, which was then sent out for further comment and discussion to forum participants as well as K-12, community adult learning and workforce training partners, and other ministries.

This document summarizes comments from 539 individuals on a literacy framework for Alberta, provided during the Alberta Literacy Forum held in Edmonton from April 14 to 16, 2008. The forum was Alberta's contribution to the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) Pan-Canadian Interactive Literacy Forum, which involved all of Canada's provinces and territories holding fora in their jurisdictions to create a pan-Canadian dialogue on literacy.

In 2005 a comprehensive review of Alberta’s advanced education system, known as A Learning Alberta, was initiated, with the goal of articulating a new vision and policy outcomes for Alberta’s advanced education system. This report represents the work of the Foundational Learning and Diversity sub-committee. Within the larger context and framework of A Learning Alberta, the sub-committee focused on identifying priorities for community learning opportunities to better meet the learning needs of adults who are under-represented in existing formal learning opportunities, and looked specifically at adults who live with a disability, low literacy skills, low fluency in English and/or challenges of settlement in a new country.
