City Charters will be drafted for Calgary and Edmonton to address the evolving needs, responsibilities and capabilities of the two big cities in a manner that best meets the needs of their communities. City Charters will be developed through regulation under the Municipal Government Act (MGA).

Age-friendly communities promote healthy and active aging. People in age-friendly communities are supported in maintaining their independence, and can access public buildings and amenities, participate in community events and initiatives, and acquire the supports and services they need.
