Description

On March 15, 2019, the Alberta Social Housing Corporation, on behalf of the Government of Alberta, and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation signed a bilateral agreement under the 2017 National Housing Strategy bilateral agreement. As part of the agreement, Alberta will develop action plans to guide housing initiatives in the province and describe proposed programs and program funding allocations. The first action plan covered the time period April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022, with the second action plan only covering one year, April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. This is an update to Alberta’s second action plan, to cover the full three year cycle of April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2025.

Description

The Affordable Housing Partnership Framework is a companion document to Stronger Foundations: Alberta’s 10-year strategy to improve and expand affordable housing. It is a unique Alberta approach to develop innovative and sustainable affordable housing solutions for Albertans with low income by bringing together partners from public, private, and non-profit organizations to increase supply in high need areas of the province. The framework provides the overarching goals, objectives and policy directions intended for affordable housing projects that meet the criteria for provincial support under the Affordable Housing Partnership Program.
