As of October 1, 2024, all online brokers that facilitate short-term accommodation transactions in Alberta – either between operators or accommodation hosts and purchasers – are required to register with TRA. Online brokers are only required to collect and remit the tourism levy for purchases of accommodation for which the online broker collects payment.

The following STANDATA were issued under the National Building Code–2023 Alberta edition. STANDATA, which include province-wide variances and interpretations, are specific to the version of the Code that they were issued under. Once a new Code comes into effect, all existing STANDATA are deemed to be obsolete and cannot be used for new construction. They are, however, still valid for evaluating code compliance of existing structures by fire services, insurance companies and by building inspectors in consideration of renovations and retrofits.

The following STANDATA were issued under the National Building Code–2023 Alberta edition. STANDATA, which include province-wide variances and interpretations, are specific to the version of the Code that they were issued under. To protect consumers and enhance public confidence in insurance, the Alberta Superintendent of Insurance monitors, investigates and takes appropriate regulatory action when there is non-compliance with the Insurance Act and Regulations. Regulatory action includes administrative penalties, cease and desist orders, compliance undertakings and court prosecutions. In all cases involving regulatory action, there will be public notification on the Government of Alberta website at http://insurance.alberta.ca/bulletins. This document contains enforcement activities undertaken by the Alberta Superintendent of Insurance and is updated to add new information as necessary.

Alberta laws authorize the creation or incorporation of certain non-profit organizations and extra-provincial registration of organizations from other provinces and countries. In Alberta, incorporation can take place under the Agricultural Societies Act, Companies Act, Religious Societies Lands Act, Societies Act, and a small number of private acts. Extra-provincial registration of non-profit organizations from outside Alberta takes place under the Business Corporations Act. The list indicates the type of organization, the name of the non-profit organization, its current status, its registration date, city, and postal code.
