The report considers the needs of seniors, persons with disabilities, and adults who receive continuing care services in their own homes, supportive living and long-term care facilities. It summarizes input received by the Task Force on Continuing Care Health Service and Accommodation Standards during consultations held between June and August 2005, and presents recommendations made by the Task Force in 12 broad areas related to continuing care services in the province.

In November 1997, Health Minister Halvar Jonson called for a review of long term care services in the province. The Long Term Care Policy Advisory Committee is guiding the review. This fact sheet presents the work of the Committee as of early 1999 and provides an outline of the upcoming work of the Committee, which will culminate in a report to be completed by November 1999 presenting the Committee's findings and recommendations.
