The MULTISAR program is focused on multi-species conservation at the landscape level that promotes stewardship through voluntary participation of landholders on both Crown and private lands. It is a collaborative effort among landholders, Alberta Conservation Association, Alberta Environment and Parks, and the Prairie Conservation Forum. This report summarizes MULTISAR's accomplishments in 2021-2022 in its three primary program areas: habitat conservation strategies; education, outreach and awareness; and research, monitoring, and evaluation.

MULTISAR is a program focused on multi-species conservation at the landscape level that promotes stewardship through voluntary participation of landholders on both Crown and private lands. The program is a collaborative effort among landholders, Alberta Conservation Association, Alberta Environment and Parks, and the Prairie Conservation Forum. The primary goals of MULTISAR are to implement collaborative strategies to manage multiple species on a defined working landscape and to assist with their implementation. This wildlife status report provides a comprehensive summary of the prairie falcon and is intended to be useful to those managing populations of the species and its habitat. The prairie falcon is a large, pale brown raptor that occupies the arid hills and grasslands of western North America. In Alberta, the core of the species' breeding habitat is located south of Red Deer, along the Bow, Red Deer, Milk, South Saskatchewan, and Oldman rivers and their tributaries. The prairie falcon was identified as a Species of Special Concern in Alberta in 2003, mostly because of its small population size.
