Description

The Alberta Differential Absorption Light Detection and Ranging (DiAL) system is a mobile unit capable of detecting particulate matters, CO2, and CH4 from remote locations through infrared laser beams without the need for any light reflecting surfaces. The Alberta DiAL was deployed in Fort McMurray from August 2 to August 22, 2014 for focused air quality studies in the oil sands region. This was the first among a number of potential DiAL field campaigns in the region under the Joint Canada-Alberta Implementation Plan for Oil Sands Monitoring.

This report presents the monthly water quality results for the Old Fort monitoring station, Athabasca River, Alberta for 2014. These data are provided to fulfill reporting requirements mandated by the Surface Water Quality Management Framework, which supports the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan. The 2014 report is the first report produced by the Alberta Environmental Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Agency for the Lower Athabasca Region. Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development produced previous reports.
